RIERA DE MERLÉS, Borredà

It is a fluvial system of transition between the Pyrenees and Pre-basins and Central Highlands, which houses rare animal populations. This stream represents one of the last tributaries of the river Llobregat, where it retains a good degree of ecological quality of the water. The area includes the river area where there are several communities of aquatic vegetation and riparian environments, between communities that emphasize duckweed, willows and alders that in some places there are well represented and in good condition. The vertebrate fauna communities associated with this environment are especially rich, a community of carnivores preserved, notably the hill, otter, la vagina, la Geneta, wild boar and a number of raptors. The fish that inhabit these waters are strictly Mediterranean and Iberian (Barbus Haasi, scum, eel) and some species of European origin
